ALTADIS U.S.A INTRODUCES AGING ROOM PURA CEPA CIGARS
‘A Rich & Exquisite Puro with a Nicaraguan Soul’
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Altadis U.S.A. is expanding distribution of its latest addition to the award-winning Aging Room series: Aging Room Pura Cepa.Pura Cepa—“pure bred” in English – is 100% Nicaraguan puro, derived solely from high-end tobaccos from the country’s finest growing regions. This exquisite cigar was composed by celebrated cigar master Rafael Nodal, and joins the acclaimed Aging Room family of decorated ”Cigar of the Year” winners and 95+ rated blends. With Aging Room Pura Cepa, Nodal sought to compose a unique premium release that embodied the most luxurious qualities of Nicaraguan tobaccos.
“I wanted a world-class cigar that ideally displayed the richness Nicaraguan soils can bring to quality tobaccos,” said the current head of Product Capability for Tabacalera USA. “With Pura Cepa, I strived to capture the very essence of the land’s core, and deliver a Nicaraguan puro blend for today’s most discerning smokers,” Nodal said.
Nodal achieved his vision of this spirited masterpiece by employing tobaccos from Nicaragua’s four major tobacco regions – Ometepe, Jalapa, Condega and Esteli – while working in collaboration with the much-respected sovereigns of Nicaraguan tobacco, the famed Plasencia family, to aid in its flawless development. The result is a bold culmination of Nicaraguan soul and a full-flavored expression which impeccably suits the Aging Room legacy.
Pura Cepa marks the newest expression to his brand’s premium small batch portfolio. The cigar, akin to all Aging Room releases, is an expression of his creativity and artistry. “All artwork, whether physical, musical, or theatrical, tells a story, and a passionately crafted cigar is no exception. When savored, Pura Cepa’s composition stems from its full-flavored depth, painting a picture that elegantly displays the nature of Nicaragua’s rich growing history,” he said.
Aging Room Pura Cepa comes in three handmade varieties: Rondo, Mezzo and Grande, with an MSRP of $12.50 - $13.50 per cigar. Each vitola will be available for purchase nationally, in 20-count boxes with distribution to all trade channels expected to begin in May 2018.
