What is Martes 13? 

If you were walking around Mexico City during the 1980s, chances are high that you passed by a movie theater that was playing the film, Martes 13, which is the equivalent of Friday the 13th in the English-speaking world. In this case, the unlucky day – the 13th-- falls on a Tuesday (Martes, in Spanish). 

The superstition around Martes 13 is taken to a different level, to the point where there is a well-known phrase to encourage one from doing anything even remotely risky during said day:

“Ni te cases ni te embarques ni de tu casa de apartes”, which roughly translates to “Don’t get married, or travel, or even go far from home.” 

Although we cannot recommend being so square, we do recommend that you try these cigars.
